## Biography

Mrs. Morgan Belmont was an American actress. Credited under that name, she played Diana Tremont in D. W. Griffith's *Way Down East* (1920).

Born Margaret Frances Andrews in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1894, she was a socialite who married Morgan Belmont, son of the financier August Belmont, in 1915. After her brief film appearance she worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and later became known as a breeder of prize-winning Labradors. She died in New York City in 1945.
