## Biography

Mutsuko Erskine is an actor. She is known for playing Yuki Ishii-Peters, the mother of the central character Maya Ishii-Peters, in the Hulu series *PEN15* (2019–2021), appearing in all 20 episodes. The role was written for her by her daughter, series co-creator and star Maya Erskine; Mutsuko had not previously worked in the industry.

She has also appeared as Beverly Ohashi in the miniseries *Tiny Beautiful Things* (2023) and as Hiromi in the short film *Daughter in a Box* (2025). Erskine has been married to musician Peter Erskine since 1987; they have two children, including Maya Erskine and editor Taichi Erskine.
