## Biography

Nan Grey was an American actress. Born Eschal Loleet Grey Miller in Houston, Texas, on 25 July 1918, she entered films after a screen test during a 1934 visit to Hollywood.

Her screen debut came in *The Firebird* (1934). She appeared as Joan Craig in *Three Smart Girls* (1936) and its sequel *Three Smart Girls Grow Up* (1939), as well as in *Dracula's Daughter* (1936), *Tower of London* (1939) and *The Invisible Man Returns* (1940). Grey also worked in radio, playing Kathy Marshall in the soap opera *Those We Love* from 1938 to 1945, and made a television appearance in *Rawhide* (1959).

She was married to jockey Jack Westrope from 1939 until their divorce in 1950, and to singer Frankie Laine from 1950 until her death from heart failure on 25 July 1993 in San Diego, California.
