Nan Schwartz is a composer, orchestrator, arranger and conductor. She composed music for the television series *Cagney & Lacey* (1982), including episodes and the 1995 television film *Cagney & Lacey: Together Again* (credited as Nan Mishkin). She also composed for *In the Heat of the Night* and several television movies, including *Color Me Perfect* (1996) and *Prison of Secrets* (1997), some under the name Nan Schwartz Mishkin.

Schwartz has worked extensively as an orchestrator on feature films such as *It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie* (2002) and *Playing with Fire* (2019, as conductor). She has received a Grammy Award for her arrangements (including work for Natalie Cole) and seven Emmy nominations for composition.
