## Biography

Naoki Kaneko (金子尚樹) was a Japanese film editor. He founded the post-production company Film Craft (フィルム・クラフ) in 1990 and had previously operated as Kaneko Editorial Office (金子編集室).

Kaneko edited *Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind* (1984) and *Only Yesterday* (1991). He worked on numerous independent and mainstream Japanese films, including *Bashing* (2005) and *Haru to no Tabi* (2010). He received the Japan Film Critics Award editing prize (浦岡敬一賞) for the latter and an earlier technical award for *Bashing*.

Born in Tokyo in 1958, he died in 2021. He was a member of the Japan Film and Television Editors Association and helped establish the Editors Noah collective.
