## Biography

Nascuy Linares is a Venezuelan composer, arranger, musician, editor and filmmaker. Born in 1972 in Mérida, he trained with musicians in the El Sistema network of orchestras and holds a degree in Audiovisual Media from the Universidad de Los Andes in Venezuela together with a master’s degree in Post-Production from Bournemouth University in England.

He has composed original music for more than forty feature films and television projects. His credits include *Embrace of the Serpent* (2015), *Rotting in the Sun* (2023) and *The Whistler: Origins* (2018). He won the Platino Award for best original music for *Embrace of the Serpent* and received an artistic residency for young Latin American composers at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, awarded by the UNESCO-Aschberg programme. Linares has also collaborated with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic as a video editor and stage manager.
