## Biography

Nat Crosby (1930–2011) was a British cinematographer and occasional director. He began his career in 1956 as a trainee assistant film cameraman at the BBC Film Department at Ealing Studios, becoming a full cameraman within four years and remaining with the BBC for 27 years until 1987.

Crosby photographed numerous BBC television dramas and plays, including *Blue Remembered Hills* (1979) and *An Englishman Abroad* (1983). He won three BAFTA Television Awards for Best Film Cameraman, for *Going Gently* (1982), *An Englishman Abroad* (1984) and *The Insurance Man* (1987), and received a nomination for *Blue Remembered Hills*. His feature film credits include *Madame Sousatzka* (1988) and *Paper Mask* (1990). He was a member of the British Society of Cinematographers.
