## Biography

Natto Wada (also credited as Wada Natto) was a Japanese screenwriter and film columnist. She graduated with an English degree from Tokyo Women's College in 1946 and began writing or co-writing film scripts in 1951, continuing until 1965.

She collaborated extensively with her husband, director Kon Ichikawa, on numerous films. Her screenplays include *The Burmese Harp* (1956), *Fires on the Plain* (1959), *An Actor's Revenge* (1963) and *Tokyo Olympiad* (1965). She was also known for her advice column in the Asahi Shimbun during the 1960s.
