## Biography

Ned Glass (born Nusyn Glass) was a Polish-born American character actor. He appeared in more than eighty films and over one hundred television episodes between 1931 and 1982.

Glass grew up in New York after emigrating from Radom as a child. He began in vaudeville and on Broadway in the early 1930s, later working as a production supervisor, before entering films in 1937. He was known for roles including the ticket seller in *North by Northwest* (1959), Doc in *West Side Story* (1961), Leopold Gideon in *Charade* (1963), and various guest parts in series such as *The Twilight Zone*, *Bewitched*, *I Dream of Jeannie*, *Get Smart* and *Bonanza*.

He received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, for *Julia* (1969) and *Bridget Loves Bernie* (1972). Glass was married to actress Kitty McHugh from 1935 until her death in 1954.
