## Biography

Neena Beber is an American screenwriter, playwright, librettist and television producer. She began her career writing for television, including dozens of episodes of *Clarissa Explains It All* (1991–1994) and six episodes of *Daria* (1997–2001). She also served as story editor and writer on *Little Bear* (1995–1999) and wrote the screenplay for the feature film *How to Deal* (2003).

Beber was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and an MFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She later concentrated on theatre, with plays including *Jump/Cut* and *Hard Feelings* staged in New York. She has received an Obie grant for emerging playwright and two Emmy nominations for her television work, and has also produced series such as *The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel*.
