Neil Gaiman is an English writer of novels, comics, short fiction and screenplays. Born on 10 November 1960 in Portchester, England, he has written for television including an episode of *Babylon 5* (1998) and two episodes of the revived *Doctor Who* series (2011 and 2013).

His screen work includes the BBC series *Neverwhere* (1996), the screenplay for *MirrorMask* (2005), the English-language script for *Princess Mononoke* (1997) and co-writing the screenplay for *Beowulf* (2007). He has also contributed to adaptations of his own books such as *Good Omens* (2019–2026) and *The Sandman* (2022–2025).
