Neil Simon was an American playwright and screenwriter. He wrote the screenplay for the 1977 film *The Goodbye Girl*.

He is also known for *The Odd Couple* (1968), *Barefoot in the Park* (1967), *Murder by Death* (1976), *Biloxi Blues* (1988) and *The Heartbreak Kid* (2007).
