Nell Cox is an American director, producer and writer. Born on 28 July 1937 in the USA, she began her career in the 1960s as an editor on documentaries including *Jane* (1962) and *Lord of the Flies* (1963).

She directed episodes of prime-time series including three episodes of *M*A*S*H* (1981–1982), two of *The Love Boat* (1984–1985) and one of *L.A. Law* (1987), as well as work on *The Waltons*, *Lou Grant*, *Falcon Crest* and *Ghostwriter*. She wrote, produced and directed the PBS drama *Liza's Pioneer Diary* (1976) for the *Visions* anthology. Her feature film *Hudson River Blues* was released in 1997.
