## Biography

Niall Byrne is an Irish composer for film, animation and television. He studied piano and composition at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and received first prize at the 1992 Dublin Film Festival music awards, chaired by Michael Nyman.

His television credits include the music for the ITV series *Cilla* (2014), *The Widower*, the BAFTA-winning *Little Boy Blue*, *Manhunt*, *White House Farm* and *A Confession*. Film scores include *Cairo Time* (2009), *Parked* (2010), *In Darkness* (2018) and the animated short *The Lost Letter* (2016).

Byrne has received several IFTA nominations and won the award for Best Original Score for the BBC film *Loving Miss Hatto*. In 2017 he received the Venus award at the Badalona Film Festival for *The Lost Letter*. He signed with Faber Music in 2019 and has released three solo piano albums.
