## Biography

Nicholas Martin is a British screenwriter. He grew up in Sussex and attended Brighton College before leaving without qualifications. After working in journalism and reporting from Chile in 1988, he trained at the National Film and Television School, graduating in 1992.

His first produced television script was for the BBC series *Between the Lines* (1992). He later contributed episodes to *Midsomer Murders* (2009–2011) and other series including *The Bill* and *Dalziel and Pascoe*. Martin wrote the screenplay for the feature film *Florence Foster Jenkins* (2016), directed by Stephen Frears and starring Meryl Streep, and for *Golda* (2023).
