## Biography

Nick Adams (1931–1968) was an American actor. After serving in the US Coast Guard from 1952 to 1955, he secured his first notable film role as Seaman Reber in *Mister Roberts* (1955) following an audition with director John Ford. That same year he appeared as the paper boy Bomber in *Picnic* (1955) and as Chick in *Rebel Without a Cause* (1955).

Adams became known for supporting parts in films including *Teacher's Pet* (1958), *Pillow Talk* (1959) and *Hell Is for Heroes* (1962), and for his starring role as Johnny Yuma in the ABC television series *The Rebel* (1959–1961). He received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in *Twilight of Honor* (1963). He also appeared in several Japanese-produced films such as *Invasion of Astro-Monster* (1965).
