## Biography

Nick Bassett is a New Zealand production designer and art director. Born on 9 November 1970 in Auckland, he began his career in the local film industry, working on productions including *Hercules: The Legendary Journeys* and *Xena: Warrior Princess*, and serving as art director on *Young Hercules*.

He advanced to art director on feature films such as *Vertical Limit* (2000) and *Avatar* (2009), for which he received an Art Directors Guild award, and supervising art director on the series *Spartacus* (2010–2013). As production designer, his credits include *Ash vs Evil Dead* (2015–2018), *Guns Akimbo* (2020), *Evil Dead Rise* (2023) and the Netflix series *Sweet Tooth* (2021–2024). He has also designed *Insidious: Out of the Further* (2026). Bassett received a Primetime Emmy nomination for art direction on the television film *Ike: Countdown to D-Day* (2004).
