## Biography

Nicola Shindler is a British television producer and executive. She began her career as a script editor on the series *Cracker* (1993) at Granada Television, later working as assistant producer on *Our Friends in the North* (1996) and producer on the drama *Hillsborough* (1996).

In 1998 she founded Red Production Company in Manchester. Its first project was Russell T Davies's *Queer as Folk* (1999), on which she served as producer. She subsequently produced or executive produced series including *Clocking Off*, *Scott & Bailey*, *Last Tango in Halifax*, *Happy Valley*, *Years and Years* and *It's a Sin*. In 2021 she launched Quay Street Productions.

Shindler was awarded an OBE in 2019 for services to broadcasting and has won multiple BAFTA Television Awards.
