Nicolas de Gunzburg, also known by the screen name Julian West, was a French actor and producer. He financed and produced the 1932 horror film *Vampyr*, directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer, and starred in it as Allan Grey.

Born in Paris in 1904 to a wealthy Russian-Jewish banking family, de Gunzburg was a prominent socialite in interwar Paris, known for hosting extravagant costume balls. Following the film's release and his father's death, he emigrated to the United States in 1934.

In America he became a fashion editor, serving as editor-in-chief of *Town & Country* and as a senior fashion editor at *Vogue* and *Harper's Bazaar*. He was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1971 and mentored designers including Calvin Klein, Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta. He died in New York in 1981.
