## Biography

Nicolás Giacobone is an Argentine writer and screenwriter. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1975.

He is known for his screenwriting collaborations with director Alejandro González Iñárritu, including *Biutiful* (2010), *Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)* (2014) and *BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths* (2022). With his cousin Armando Bó and others, he shared the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for *Birdman*. He has also written the short-story collection *Algún Cristo* (2001) and novels including *The Crossed-Out Notebook* (2018).

Giacobone's maternal grandfather was film director Armando Bó; his cousin Armando Bó is a frequent collaborator.
