## Biography

Nigel Willoughby is a British cinematographer. He was born on 9 May 1950 in Wandsworth, London.

Willoughby began his career in the film industry as a messenger boy before working as a camera operator on films including *Maurice* (1987), *Sleepy Hollow* (1999) and *Pearl Harbor* (2001). As director of photography he has worked on *The Magdalene Sisters* (2002), *It's a Free World...* (2007), *Downton Abbey* (2011–2014), *Penny Dreadful* (2015–2016) and the live broadcast production *Lost in London* (2017). He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers.
