## Biography

Nkechi Okoro Carroll is a television writer, producer and actor. Born in New York to Nigerian parents, she grew up in Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, the United Kingdom and the United States. She earned a BA in economics and French from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998 and a master's in international economics from New York University in 2002. After working for the Federal Reserve for fourteen years, she moved to Los Angeles in 2004 with her husband to pursue screenwriting.

Her first writing job was on *The Finder* (2012). She then joined the writers' room on *Bones* (2013–2015), where she contributed as a writer and teleplay writer and advanced to producer roles. Subsequent credits include co-executive producer on *Rosewood* (2015–2017) and *The Resident* (2018). Carroll is executive producer and showrunner of *All American* (2018–present) and created the spin-offs *All American: Homecoming* (2022–2024) and *Found* (2023–2025).

She founded the production company Rock My Soul Productions and, in 2014, co-founded the networking group Black Women Who Brunch with Lena Waithe and Erika L. Johnson.
