## Biography

Noah Beery, also credited as Noah Beery Sr., was an American actor who appeared in films from 1913 until shortly before his death. He began his career on the stage in vaudeville and melodrama before moving into silent films, where he often played villainous roles.

He is known for his performances as Sgt. Pedro Gonzales in *The Mark of Zorro* (1920) and as Gus Jordan in *She Done Him Wrong* (1933). Beery was the older brother of actor Wallace Beery and the father of actor Noah Beery Jr.
