Born on 9 July 1946 in Neu-Isenburg, Germany, he moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1960s. He is a founding member of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, the ProVisional Theater and the Padua Hills Playwrights Festival, where he originated the role of the Trickster in Murray Mednick's seven-hour play cycle The Coyote Cycle. Weisser has appeared in numerous stage productions in Europe and the United States, including a Broadway role as Rode opposite Ed Harris in Ronald Harwood's Taking Sides. His film credits include Erich in *Midnight Express* (1978), a Norwegian in *The Thing* (1982), Albert Hujar in *Schindler's List* (1993) and roles in *Chaplin* (1992) and *Hocus Pocus* (1993). On television he has played Peter Schuler in *Breaking Bad* (2008) and *Better Call Saul* (2015). He received an Ovation Award, an LA Weekly Theater Award and an LA Drama Critics Circle nomination for his performance as Oskar in John O'Keefe's *Times Like These*. Weisser has directed plays and produced two films directed by Albert Pyun.
