## Biography

Norma Doggett was an American dancer and actress. Born in Chicago on 3 August 1925, she began her career as a dancer in Chicago clubs before moving to Broadway, where she appeared in musicals including *Magdalena* (1948), *Miss Liberty* (1949), *Wish You Were Here* (1952), *Fanny* (1954) and *Bells Are Ringing* (1956). She also served as understudy to performers such as Ethel Merman and Florence Henderson.

Her sole film credit was as Bride Martha in the MGM musical *Seven Brides for Seven Brothers* (1954), directed by Stanley Donen. Doggett died in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, on 4 May 2020.
