## Biography

Norman Fell, also credited early in his career as Norman Feld, was an American actor. He played Mr. McCleery in *The Graduate* (1967).

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Fell graduated from Temple University with a bachelor's degree in drama. During World War II he served as a US Air Force tail gunner in the Pacific. His first regular television role came in the comedy series *Joe & Mabel* (1956). He is best known for portraying landlord Stanley Roper in *Three's Company* (1977–1979) and its spin-off *The Ropers* (1979–1980), winning a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Actor in a Supporting Role in 1979.

Other film credits include *Ocean's 11* (1960) and *Bullitt* (1968). Fell died in 1998.
