## Biography

Nykiya Adams is a British child actress. She made her screen debut playing the lead role of Bailey in Andrea Arnold's 2024 drama *Bird*, opposite Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Adams, from Basildon in Essex, had previously appeared only in a school production of *Matilda*. She was cast after a workshop at her school and Arnold rewrote the script to suit her. She also appeared in the 2024 Fontaines D.C. music video for "Bug". Her performance in *Bird* earned nominations including the British Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Performance and the London Film Critics' Circle Award for Young British or Irish Performer.
