## Biography

Olaf Pooley was an English actor, screenwriter and painter. Born Ole Krohn Pooley on 13 March 1914 in Parkstone, Dorset, he died on 14 July 2015 in Santa Monica, California. He studied architecture at the Architectural Association in London and painting at Chelsea School of Art and the Académie Colarossi in Paris. After working as a set designer at Pinewood Studios, he began acting on stage during the 1940s and appeared in West End productions including Noël Coward’s *Peace in Our Time*.

Pooley’s television roles included Professor Stahlman and his parallel-world counterpart in the 1970 *Doctor Who* serial *Inferno*, the Cleric in the 2000 *Star Trek: Voyager* episode “Blink of an Eye”, Dr Sidney Marlowe in *MacGyver* (1985) and a judge in *Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman* (1993). Film appearances encompassed *Sink the Bismarck!* (1960) and *The Assassination Bureau* (1969).

As a writer he received an uncredited credit on the screenplay for *Lifeforce* (1985). He wrote and appeared in *The Corpse* (also known as *Crucible of Horror*, 1971), wrote and directed *The Johnstown Monster* (1971) and wrote the screenplay for *The Godsend* (1980).
