## Biography

Olivia Hamnett (1943–2001) was an English actress. She began her career in repertory theatre in England and appeared in guest roles on British television series including *Department S* (1969). She emigrated to Australia in the early 1970s.

Hamnett is known for her film role as Annie Burton in *The Last Wave* (1977) and for Australian television work, including Meg Fulton in *The Sullivans*, Dr Kate Peterson in *Prisoner* (1981–82) and Joanna Randall in *Return to Eden* (1983 and 1985). She also appeared in *The Earthling* (1980).

She was married to actor Peter Regan from 1973 until her death from a brain tumour in Malvern, Victoria, Australia.
