## Biography

Olly Blackburn is an English film director and screenwriter, also credited as Oliver Blackburn or Ollie Blackburn. Born in London, he had a childhood acting role in the 1982 short *A Shocking Accident*, which won an Academy Award for Best Short Subject.

Blackburn studied history at Balliol College, Oxford, graduating in 1993, and later received a Fulbright Scholarship to study film and television at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His early short films include *Swallowed* (1997) and *Wonderful World* (1998).

His feature debut *Donkey Punch* (2008), which he co-wrote and directed, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He has since directed the feature *Kristy* (2014) and television episodes including one of *Endeavour* (2016), three of *Victoria* (2016), five of *StartUp* (2017), four of *The Widow* (2019), three of *Sanditon* (2019) and four of *Dangerous Liaisons* (2022).
