## Biography

Oren Moverman is an Israeli-American screenwriter, film director and producer. He was born on 4 July 1966 in Jaffa, Israel, grew up in Givatayim and served in the Israel Defense Forces before moving to the United States. He graduated from Brooklyn College in 1992 and began his career writing screenplays.

His early credits as screenwriter include *Jesus' Son* (1999), *Face* (2002), *I'm Not There* (2007), *Married Life* (2008) and *Love & Mercy* (2015). He made his directorial debut with *The Messenger* (2009), which he also co-wrote, and has since directed *Rampart* (2011), *Time Out of Mind* (2015) and *The Dinner* (2017). He has also produced several films and the documentary series *Willie Nelson & Family*.
