## Biography

Óskar Thór Axelsson is an Icelandic film director and screenwriter. He graduated with an MFA in filmmaking from New York University and began making short films as a teenager.

His feature debut *Black's Game* (2012), which he wrote and directed, became one of the highest-grossing Icelandic films and won him the Edda Award for Screenplay of the Year. He also wrote and directed *I Remember You* (2017), Iceland’s highest-grossing film that year. Axelsson directed five episodes of the series *Trapped* (2015) and has worked on series including *Stella Blómkvist* and *Operation Napoleon* (2023).
