## Biography

Ottavio Scotti (1904–1975) was an Italian production designer and art director. He trained at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in the 1920s and began working in film in the late 1930s.

Scotti contributed to more than one hundred films over a career spanning from the late 1930s to the early 1970s. His credits include production design on Luchino Visconti's *Senso* (1954) and Orson Welles's *Black Magic* (1949), as well as art direction or production design on *The Whip and the Body* (1963), *Castle of Blood* (1964), *The Monk of Monza* (1963), *Letto a tre piazze* (1960) and *Seven Deaths in the Cat's Eye* (1973).
