## Biography

Otto Lantschner (1908–1989) was an Austrian skier who also worked in film as an actor, production assistant and cinematographer. Born in Innsbruck, he studied law at the University of Innsbruck before pursuing a career in skiing and cinema.

He appeared as an actor in Arnold Fanck’s mountain films *Stürme über dem Montblanc* (1930) and *Der weiße Rausch* (1931). Lantschner served as production assistant on Leni Riefenstahl’s *Triumph des Willens* (1935) and worked as cinematographer and editing assistant on her two-part *Olympia* (1938). He later took on further camera and directing roles in documentary and short films.
