## Biography

Ousama Rawi is a cinematographer born on 3 March 1939 in Baghdad, Iraq. He grew up in Scotland and began his career in London in the early 1960s, shooting a short film that placed second at the Cannes short film competition. He worked as a news cameraman and in commercials before his first feature credit on *Pulp* (1972).

Rawi is known for his work on feature films including *The Black Windmill* (1974), *Gold* (1974) and *Zulu Dawn* (1979), and for television series and films such as *Pirates of Silicon Valley* (1999), *The Tudors* (2007–2010), *Borgia* (2011–2013) and *Killing Jesus* (2015). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a One-Hour Series for an episode of *The Tudors*, along with Canadian Society of Cinematographers and Gemini awards for the same series. He was previously married to actress Rita Tushingham.
