P. Carter, also credited as Tamara P. Carter, is a writer and director. They graduated with an MFA in screenwriting from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television. Carter is based in Brooklyn, New York.

Carter worked as story editor and wrote the teleplay for the episode "G'Day Melbourne" of the HBO series *The Leftovers* (2017). They served as writer and executive story editor on the series *City on a Hill* (2019–2022), contributing to multiple episodes. Additional credits include consultant on *P-Valley* (2020) and story work on *The Fosters* (2014).

Carter directed and wrote the short film *The Paris Project* (2017) and founded the 160BPM film collective.
