## Biography

Pat Irwin (born 17 May 1955) is an American composer and musician. He was a founding member of the no wave bands the Raybeats and 8-Eyed Spy in New York in the late 1970s, and performed with the B-52s from 1989 to 2008. He currently performs and records with SUSS.

Irwin has composed scores for the Showtime series *Dexter: New Blood* (2021), *Dexter: Original Sin* (2024) and *Dexter: Resurrection* (2025). His other television credits include *Nurse Jackie*, *Bored to Death* and *The Good Cop* (2018), as well as animated series such as *Rocko's Modern Life*, *Pepper Ann* and *Class of 3000*. Film scores include *But I'm a Cheerleader* (2000) and *My New Gun*.

He graduated from Grinnell College in 1977 and received a Watson Fellowship that took him to Paris, where he attended composition workshops with John Cage. He has received ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards for his work on *SpongeBob SquarePants*.
