## Biography

Patric M. Verrone is an American television writer and labour leader. Born on 29 September 1959 in Glendale, Queens, New York, he began his career writing monologues for *The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson* in the late 1980s.

He subsequently wrote for *Rugrats* (1991), *The Critic*, *Muppets Tonight*, *Pinky and the Brain*, *Futurama* (as writer and producer across multiple seasons and films), and one episode of *The Simpsons* (2005). He also contributed to *Disenchantment* and developed *Class of 3000*.

Verrone served as president of the Writers Guild of America, West from 2005 to 2009, leading the guild through the 2007–08 strike. He has won three Primetime Emmy Awards.
