Patricia Collinge was an Irish-American actress and writer. She began her stage career in London in 1904 and made her Broadway debut in 1908. She became a noted performer in plays by authors including George Bernard Shaw and Henrik Ibsen.

Her film roles included Birdie Hubbard in *The Little Foxes* (1941), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and Emma Newton in Alfred Hitchcock's *Shadow of a Doubt* (1943). She also appeared in *The Nun's Story* (1959) and episodes of *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* and *The Alfred Hitchcock Hour*. She contributed uncredited dialogue to *Shadow of a Doubt* and worked on the screenplay for Hitchcock's *Lifeboat* (1944).

Collinge died in New York City in 1974.
