Patrick Smith is an American animator, director and filmmaker. He was born on 18 February 1972 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He began his career as a storyboard artist for Walt Disney and worked as an animation director on the MTV series *Downtown* (1999) and *Daria* (1997). Smith has directed numerous short films, including *Puppet* (2006) and *Beyond Noh* (2020). He has taught in the graduate film programme at New York University Tisch School of the Arts in Singapore and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
