Paul A. Kaufman is a British-born film and television director, producer and writer. Born in London on 2 December 1964, he studied acting at the Actors Studio in New York and began his career in Hollywood as a messenger before managing actors.

He made his directorial debut with the Showtime television film *Run the Wild Fields* (2000). Kaufman has directed episodes of series including *The Mentalist* (2008), *Grimm* (2011), *NCIS: Los Angeles* and *Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders* (2016). His television movies include *Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story* (2011) and *The Messengers* (2015). He also directed the feature film *Butter* (2022). He has received multiple Emmy Awards for his television work.
