## Biography

Paul Barnes is a film editor and producer known for his work on documentaries. He studied at the New York University Institute of Film and Television from 1969 to 1973.

Barnes edited Errol Morris’s *The Thin Blue Line* (1988). Since 1984 he has collaborated extensively with Ken Burns at Florentine Films, editing or supervising the editing of *The Statue of Liberty* (1984), *The Civil War* (1990), *Baseball* (1994), *The War* (2007) and other series. He has also produced several Burns projects, including serving as lead producer on *The Roosevelts: An Intimate History* (2014). Barnes won a Primetime Emmy Award for his editing of *Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson* (2004).
