## Biography

Paul Bonneau was a French composer and conductor. Born in Moret-sur-Loing in 1918, he studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he won first prizes in harmony (1937), fugue (1942) and composition (1945). He served as deputy chief of music in the French Army from 1939 and later as director of music for the Republican Guard.

Bonneau conducted light orchestral music for French national radio for thirty years and founded the vocal group Les Djinns in 1960. He composed or co-composed scores for numerous French films and contributed library music tracks, including several used in the television series *The Prisoner* (1967). He also wrote concert works such as a concerto for saxophone and orchestra. Bonneau died in 1995.
