## Biography

Paul Hitchcock (1932–2023) was a British film producer and production executive. He began his career with an apprenticeship in the budgeting department at Pinewood Studios, later working as a production executive for United Artists. In 1966 he became head of production at Paramount Pictures, and from 1969 to 1992 he held the same role at Warner Bros.

As an independent producer he worked on several major films, including *Mission: Impossible* (1996) and *Mission: Impossible II* (2000) as executive producer, *The Man in the Iron Mask* (1998) as co-producer, *The Phantom of the Opera* (2004) as executive producer, and *Fred Claus* (2007) as executive producer. He contributed to more than 100 films in various production capacities.

Hitchcock died in 2023 in Bracknell, Berkshire, England.
