Paul Hurst (also credited as Paul Causey Hurst or Paul C. Hurst) was an American character actor and occasional director and writer. Born in Traver, California, he appeared in films from around 1912, initially working in low-budget westerns and directing some silent films before concentrating on acting.

Hurst appeared in more than 250 films, often in supporting roles as villains, lawmen or sidekicks. He is noted for performances in *Gone with the Wind* (1939) as a Yankee deserter and *The Ox-Bow Incident* (1943) as Monty Smith. Other credits include *Mr. Deeds Goes to Town* (1936), *Island of Lost Souls* (1932) and *In Old Chicago* (1938) as Mitch. He was married to actress Hedda Nova.
