## Biography

Paul L. Jacobson was an American writer and producer. He worked in television production, including as a unit manager on the children's series *Howdy Doody*, before forming his own company, Jalor Productions, to move into feature films.

Jacobson originated the story for the 1964 science-fiction comedy *Santa Claus Conquers the Martians*, on which he also served as producer. The screenplay was written by Glenville Mareth and the film was directed by Nicholas Webster. It was shot on Long Island over a short schedule and low budget, and distributed by Embassy Pictures. Jacobson died on 10 July 2015 in Port Washington, New York.
