## Biography

Paul Lees (1923–1995) was an American actor. After enlisting in the US Marine Corps at age 18, he served more than six years, was captured during the Japanese attack on Corregidor in the Second World War and was blinded by picric acid. Despite his loss of vision, he learned to act by having scripts read to him and signed a contract with Paramount Pictures.

Lees appeared in supporting and uncredited roles in numerous films of the late 1940s and 1950s. His credited parts include Arthur Townsend in *The Heiress* (1949), Bob Younger in *The Great Missouri Raid* (1951) and Gene Gunner in *Appointment with Danger* (1951). He also worked in television, including episodes of *Perry Mason* and *The Joey Bishop Show*. In 1951 he co-authored the book *Soo Chow the Marine* with actor Reginald Owen.
