Paul M. Sommers is a cinematographer who has also directed for television. Credited at times as Paul Sommers, he served as director of photography on *The Vampire Diaries* (2009) for more than forty episodes across its early seasons. In 2011 he directed one episode of the series.

His other credits as director of photography include episodes of *Bosch* (2015), *Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams* (2017), *Empire* (2015) and *Rectify* (2013). Earlier work includes additional crew on the film *Notting Hill* (1999) and steadicam operation on various projects.
