## Biography

Paul Marcus was a British television director and producer. He produced the second and third series of *Prime Suspect* (1992–1993) and directed the final instalment of the fourth series, *Prime Suspect: The Scent of Darkness* (1995). He also directed the feature film *Heidi* (2005).

Marcus was educated at Latymer Upper School and Lincoln College, Oxford. The son of playwright Frank Marcus, he worked in theatre before moving into television and film. His credits include directing episodes of *Dalziel and Pascoe*, *In Deep*, *The Bill* and *Roman Mysteries*, as well as producing other series such as *Wokenwell* and *Plastic Man*.

He won BAFTA and Emmy awards for his work on *Prime Suspect*. Marcus died in London in 2011.
