## Biography

Paul Matthew Thompson is a British television writer and producer. He has written multiple episodes of the ITV crime drama *Vera* (2011), and contributed to series including *EastEnders* (1985), *Father Brown* (2013), *Casualty* and *Holby City*.

Thompson is co-creator and executive producer of the ITV detective series *Ridley* (2022). He created *The Good Ship Murder* (2023) for Channel 5 and jointly created the BBC daytime series *Shakespeare & Hathaway - Private Investigators* (2018), which has run for multiple series and sold internationally. Other credits include the BBC drama *Land Girls* (2009).
